Time to change Time to change

Mental health problems are common - one in four people will experience a mental health problem in any given year, but nearly nine out of 10 people who experience them say they face stigma and discrimination as a result. This can be even worse than the symptoms themselves.
Time to Change is England's biggest programme to challenge mental health stigma and discrimination.
In November 2015, the CCG signed an organisational pledge as a commitment to support the aims of Time to Change. Richard Kirby, CCG Service Improvement Officer, subsequently agreed to become our “employee champion” to help raise awareness, increase knowledge and drive change within the workplace.
This page has been created to advise colleagues of upcoming events and also to inform those living within the Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby areas of our ongoing commitment and progress.
Proposed activities for 2016/17 include:
  • A blog from our Chief Officer, Janet Probert.
  • A Time to Change stand at a future Patient Congress event.
  • A staff question and answer session about mental health symptoms, effects and warning signs.
  • A staff talk from a guest speaker.
  • A staff event on Time to Talk Day in February 2017.
Whilst current plans are focussed on CCG staff, we welcome contact from any member of the public including comments or questions. Please email Richard Kirby via hrwccg.hrwccgenquiries@nhs.net or write to Richard Kirby, NHS HRW CCG, Civic Centre, Stone Cross, Northallerton DL6 2UU.
