There is a local Healthwatch in every area of England. They are the independent champion for people using local health and social care services across North Yorkshire. They also share views with Healthwatch England, the national body, to help improve the quality of services across the country.
In summary – Healthwatch North Yorkshire is here to:
- Help people find out about local health and social care services
- Listen to what people think of services
- Help improve the quality of services by letting those running services and the government know what people want from care
- Encourage people running services to involve people in changes to care
The CCG works with Healthwatch to support their work and drive engagement with members of the
public. We strive to further develop and enhance our relationship with Healthwatch and to work in
partnership efficiently to engage with patients and carers. We will ensure that the insight we
receive from them about services we commission helps us to continually improve healthcare provision
across our area.
