Whitby Hospital open event 2018 Whitby Hospital open event 2018

The latest plans and designs for the multi-million pound Whitby Hospital redevelopment project were shared with local residents at an open day on Tuesday 14 August 2018 at the old Day Rehab Room, Ground Floor, Whitby Hospital between 3pm to 6pm.

This followed the submission of the planning application which was available to view on the Scarborough Borough Council’s website.

The CCG, as the lead for the £11.9 million project, has been busy working with partner organisations on the complicated planning process. This follows design development led by principal supply chain partner BAM Construction together with its architectural partner Medical Architecture.

The project got approval of a funding commitment from site owners, NHS Property Services in February this year and the CCG’s Governing Body had also agreed to move forward with plans.

We were really excited to share the latest designs for the redeveloped hospital which included staff and public feedback from a similar event held in March last year.

There are still many complex elements of the project to be resolved and we are working hard with BAM to move further ahead. That is why we are so pleased to have reached this stage where you can really see the project coming to life.

This was a free drop-in event for staff and the public to hear the very latest on the project and learn how the CCG is working hard for sustainable services across Whitby and the surrounding area.

Other representatives were from North Yorkshire County Council, BAM Construction, Humber NHS Foundation Trust and site owners, NHS Property Services.

Those unable to make the event were able to subscribe to the CCG’s Whitby newsletter, WhitbyHealthNews by emailing hrwccg.hrwccgenquiries@nhs.net or calling 01609 76762.
